R -06-04-13-10E1 WHEREAS, Section 43.065(a) of the Texas Local Government Code requires that, within certain specified statutory timeframes, the City Council of the City of Round Rock must direct the City's Planning Director to prepare a service plan that provides for the extension of full municipal services to the areas which are proposed for annexation, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City Council hereby directs the City's Planning Director to prepare a service plan that provides for the extension of full municipal services to the following area proposed for annexation, said property being further described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes: (1) Johnson Tract (32.170 acres, more or less); The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution directing the Planning Director to prepare a service plan concerning the annexation of 32.170 acres of land out of the Robert McNutt SurVey. (Travis Johnson Tract) Department: Planning and Community Development Department Staff Person: Jim Stendebach, Director Justification: The tract of land known as the Johnson Tract is a total of 32.170 acres located on the south side of CR 123, north of the Greenfield Subdivision and east of CR 122. It is the city's desire to annex this tract in order to control the development of this area and to protect the existing single-family residential subdivisions abutting this tract to the south and west. Funding: Cost: N/A Source of funds: N/A Outside Resources: N/A Background Information: This tract of land is located within the City of Round Rock's ETJ and in Williamson County. Public Comment: Two public hearings are scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006, and Thursday, May 25, 2006. On April 14, 2006, written notices will be sent by certified mail to the property owners of the proposed annexed lands and to all public and private utility providers that could be affected. Published notice of the May 18, 2006, and May 25, 2006, public hearings will appear in the Round Rock Leader on May 4, 2006 and May 13, 2006 and will be posted on the City's Website on May 4, 2006 and May 12, 2006, respectively.
