DATE: August 17, 2006
SUBJECT: City Council Meeting - August 24, 2006
ITEM: 13.6.1. Consider an ordinance amending the Transportation Master Plan.
(First Reading)
Department: Transportation Services
Staff Person: Thomas G. Martin, P.E., Director of Transportation Services
Justification:
Due to changing roadway needs, Transportation Services has prepared an amendment to
the Transportation Master Plan (TMP), as well as the Transportation Element of the 2000
General Plan. The amendment is limited to the roadway table and Ultimate Roadway
Network (map) and includes adding a new arterial, upgrading a collector, realigning an
intersection, and renaming a roadway and an alignment.
Funding:
Cost: N/A
Source of funds: N/A
Outside Resources: N/A
Background Information:
The TMP periodically requires amendments to ensure the Citizens of Round Rock are
afforded an adequate future transportation system. The Transportation Master Plan, along
with the Transportation Element of the General Plan, provides the direction for developing a
City transportation system that serves the needs of all residents.
Public Comment:
The Transportation Master Plan was presented during a Public Hearing for the amendment
to the Transportation Element of the General Plan. The hearing was held by the Planning
and Zoning Commission on August 16, 2006.
