GRIMES BOULEVARD; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That the name of the roadway now known as CR 170 that extends south from Louis Henna Blvd. is hereby changed to A.W. Grimes Boulevard. II. All references to this street name in The Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, are hereby amended to reflect said change. III. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, @PFDesktop\::ODMA/WORLDOX/O:/wdox/ORDINANC/060824C3.WPD/xmc considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider an ordinance changing the name of CR 170, from SH -45 south to the city limits, to A. W. Grimes Boulevard. (First Reading) Department: Planning and Community Development Staff Person: Jim Stendebach, Planning Director Justification: This street name change furthers the City's efforts to maintain consistent street naming throughout Round Rock. That portion of CR 170 that extends south from (East) Louis Henna Blvd., within the City Limits of Round Rock will be changed to South A. W. Grimes Boulevard. Property address numbers will be changed for consistency along the roadway. See attached map and forms for exact location of subject roadway. Funding: Cost: N/A Source of funds: N/A Outside Resources: N/A Background Information: As required by Round Rock City Council Resolution No. R -02-11-26-10C1, the following has been completed: On March 24, 2006, written notices were sent to the property owners of the lands adjacent to CR 170 within the City Limits of Round Rock. Return envelopes and forms, to be signed and notarized, were provided to allow these owners to let the City know their feelings on the name change. On July 28, 2006, a second request was sent to property owners who had not yet returned forms. On August 1, 2006, the Address Coordinator had received the required 66.6% of property owners' returned forms agreeing to the name change. Public Comment: None required.
