WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock ("City") contracts with the
United Way of Greater Williamson County ("United Way") for assistance
in determining and addressing the health and welfare needs of the
citizens of Round Rock, and
WHEREAS, the City staff and United Way have completed their
recommendations for the social service funding allocation process for
fiscal year 2007, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept and/or modify the
recommendations for the funding of social service agencies, Now
Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the City Council hereby accepts and/or modifies the funding
recommendations of United Way for social service agencies for fiscal
year 2007 as reflected on Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

Justification:
The United Way and City of Round Rock have completed the social service funding allocation
process for FY 2007. This resolution accepts the funding recommendations resulting from
this year's allocation process. Finalization of the recommendations is contingent upon the
approval of the FY 2006-2007 General Fund Budget as well as individual agency funding
contracts with the City.

Background Information:
The City of Round Rock contracts with the United Way of Greater Williamson County for
assistance in determining and addressing the health and welfare needs of the citizens of
Round Rock. The assistance of the United Way enables the City to better identify social
service needs within the community. The United Way collects social service funding
requests, comprehensively reviews and evaluates the requests and then jointly with City of
Round Rock representatives provides recommendations regarding the optimal allocation of
funds for the benefit of the community. The United Way also monitors the performance of
the agencies throughout the year.
