AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, 1990 EDITION, CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: SECTION
3.101 STANDARD BUILDING CODE, SECTION 3.103 CABO ONE AND TWO
FAMILY DWELLING CODE, SECTION 3.401 STANDARD HOUSING CODE,
SECTION 3.501 STANDARD PLUMBING CODE, SECTION 3.601 STANDARD
GAS CODE, SECTION 3.701 STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE, SECTION
3.800 STANDARD SWIMMING POOL CODE, AND SECTION 5.101
STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS
CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:
I.
That Section 3.101, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.101 STANDARD BUILDING CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Building Code, 1991 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be placed on
file in the office of the city secretary of the City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference and
all regulations, parts, notations, references, and
specifications therein are hereby adopted and made a
part of this section except as deleted or amended
hereafter.
II.
That Section 3.103, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.103 CABO ONE AND TWO FAMILY DWELLING CODE ADOPTED
The Council of American Building Officials (CABO) One
and Two Family Dwelling Code, 1991 Edition, one (1)
copy of which shall be placed on file in the office of
the city secretary of the City of Round Rock, Texas, is
hereby adopted by reference and all regulations, parts,
notations, references, and specifications therein are
hereby adopted and made a part of this section except
as deleted or amended hereafter.

That Section 3.401, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.401 STANDARD HOUSING CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Housing Code, 1991 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be on file in
the office of the city secretary of the City of Round
Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference and all
regulations, parts, notations, references and
specifications therein are hereby adopted and made a
part of this section except as deleted or amended
hereafter.
IV.
That Section 3.501, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.501 STANDARD PLUMBING CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Plumbing Code, 1991 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be placed on
file in the office of the city secretary, is hereby
adopted by reference and all regulations, parts,
notations, references and specifications therein are
hereby adopted and made a part of this section except
as deleted or amended hereafter.
V.
That Section 3.601, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.601 STANDARD GAS CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Gas Code, 1991 Edition with amendments,
one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the
City Secretary of the City of Round Rock, Texas, is
hereby adopted by reference and all regulations, parts,
notations, references, and specifications therein are
hereby adopted and made a part of this section except
as deleted or amended hereafter.

That Section 3.701, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.701 STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Mechanical Code, 1991 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be placed on
file in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Round, Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference and
all regulations, parts, notations, references, and
specifications therein are hereby adopted and made a
part of this section except as deleted or amended
hereafter.
VII.
That Section 3.800, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 3.800 SWIMMING POOL CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Swimming Pool Code, 1991 Edition, one (1)
copy of which shall be placed on file in the office of
the city secretary of the City of Round Rock, Texas, is
hereby adopted by reference and all regulations, parts,
notations, references, and specifications therein are
hereby adopted and made a part of this section except
as deleted or amended hereafter.
VIII.
That Section 5.101, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
5.101 STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1991 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be placed on
file in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference and
all regulations, parts, notations, references, and
specifications therein are hereby adopted and made a
part of this section except as deleted or amended
hereafter.

IX.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance
shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote
of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading this
ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
In order to remain up to date with national building trades codes, the City of Round Rock
regularly updates our codes to the latest revision. Most of the revisions are related to safety and
the codes generally consistent with surrounding cities.
