AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES (1995
EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, CHAPTER 9, SECTION
9.503 AMENDING THE SCHOOL SPEED ZONE ON GULF WAY
DRIVE; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
I.
That the school zone on FM 3406 designated in Chapter 9,
Section 9.503, Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round
Rock is hereby amended to read as follows:
9.503 SCHOOL ZONES
STREET FROM TO SPEED SPEED ZONE
ZONE TIMES
Gulf Way Drive Settlement Drive 1,275' east of 20 7:00 - 8:45 a.m.
Sandy Brook Drive 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.
II.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written
notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which
this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open
to the public as required by law at all times during which this
Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered
and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading
this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

Edition) amending the school speed zone on Gulf Way.
(Second Reading)

History:
Gulf Way provides service to Union Hill Elementary and to
Hopewell Middle School. The existing school zone time frame does
not take into consideration the school hours for Hopewell Middle
School. This ordinance will adjust the time to encompass both
schools' admittance and closing times.

Impact/Benefit: The coordination of different level schools and their school
zone times will promote a safer environment for traffic
entering and exiting campuses.
