G-03-11-25-11D1 - 11/25/2003ORDINANCE NO. a- -091-c:95-i/1)1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES (1995 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.503 AMENDING THE SCHOOL SPEED ZONE ON GULF WAY DRIVE; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That the school zone on FM 3406 designated in Chapter 9, Section 9.503, Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: 9.503 SCHOOL ZONES STREET FROM TO SPEED SPEED ZONE ZONE TIMES Gulf Way Drive Settlement Drive 1,275' east of 20 7:00 - 8:45 a.m. Sandy Brook Drive 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. DATE: November 20, 2003 SUBJECT: City Council Meeting - November 25, 2003 ITEM: *11.D.1. Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 9, Section 9.503 of the Round Rock Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition) amending the school speed zone on Gulf Way. (Second Reading) Resource: Tom Word, Chief of Public Works Operations T.G. Martin, P.E., Director of Transportation Services History: Gulf Way provides service to Union Hill Elementary and to Hopewell Middle School. The existing school zone time frame does not take into consideration the school hours for Hopewell Middle School. This ordinance will adjust the time to encompass both schools' admittance and closing times. Funding: Cost: Source of Funds: Operating Signs and Markers Outside Resources: N/A Impact/Benefit: The coordination of different level schools and their school zone times will promote a safer environment for traffic entering and exiting campuses.
