AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1, SECTION 1.1703, 1.1706,
AND 1.1707, CODE OF ORDINANCES (1995 EDITION), CITY OF
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, TO INCREASE RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
FEES; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS:
I.
That Chapter 1, Section 1.1703, Code of Ordinances (1995
Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1.1703 PARK FACILITIES, POOLS, AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL
(1)
Park Facilities. Resident and non-resident individuals, clubs, organizations, or businesses
may rent parks and recreation facilities, when available, for a fee per function as follows:
(a) Pavilions:
Neighborhood parks
Old Settlers Park
(b) Community Centers:

(2) Pools. Resident and non-resident individuals, clubs, organizations, or businesses may rent
City pools, when available, for an hourly rate, with a minimum of two (2) hours and a
maximum of four (4) hours, as follows:
(a) Lake Creek Pool
50 people or less
51 - 100 people
101 - 150 people
151 - 200 people
(b) Micki Krebsbach Pool
200 people or less
201 - 400 people
401 - 600 people

II.
That Chapter 1, Section 1.1706, Code of Ordinances (1995
Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1.1706 YOUTH SPORTS ASSOCIATION FACILITY FEES
(1) Field Sports
(a) Youth sports associations shall reimburse the city for all electric costs during the
months that their programs are in session.
(b) All youth associations shall reimburse the city for the cost of marble dust and
infield topping used.
(2) Pool Sports
(a) From May 1 to August 31, recreational youth swim teams shall pay the city
$12.00 per hour for the Lake Creek Pool, and $18.00 per hour for the Micki
Krebsbach Pool for use for practices and/or swim meets.
(b) From September 1 to April 30, recreational youth swim teams shall pay their pro -
rata share of actual costs of operating and maintaining the pool.

III.
That Chapter 1, Section 1.1707, Code of Ordinances (1995
Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1.1707 MUNICIPAL POOL ADMISSION
Municipal pool admission fees are hereby established as follows:
(1) Resident Fees - Daily Admission
17 years of age and under $ 1.00
18 years of age and older $ 2.00
(2) Resident Fees - Pass (10 visits)
17 years of age and under $ 7.50
18 years of age and older $15.00
(3) Non -Resident Fees - Daily Admission
17 years of age and under $ 1.50
18 years of age and older $ 2.50
(4) Non -Resident Fees - Pass (10 visits)
17 years of age and under $11.25
18 years of age and older $18.75
IV.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written
notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which

this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which
this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed,
considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open
Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

ITEM: 8.A.1. Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 1, Sections 1.1 703, 1.1706,
and 1.1707 of the Round Rock Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition),
increasing the recreation program fees. (Second Reading)

History: Due to increased program cost, PARD has recently assessed its fee structure and
is recommending increases in the following areas: facility/equipment rentals, pool
entry fees CMRC memberships. The Proposed fees have not been changed for 3-
5 years.
PARD programs are subsidized by the General Fund, and the City tries to
maintain a 75% recreation program recovery rate through the collection of fees,
sponsorships and grants annually.

Impact/Benefit: The City's new marketing persons solicitations of sponsorship/scholarship
monies and these increases will help to achieve the goal of a 75% cost
recovery of Recreation Division Expenses.
