G-03-02-13-12B1 - 2/13/2003ORDINANCE NO. 0- 03-0r/3 -k9 6 AN ORDINANCE RESCHEDULING THE FIRST REGULAR MARCH MEETING OF THE ROUND ROCK CITY COUNCIL FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH, 2003; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, the first regularly scheduled March meeting of the Round Rock City Council falls during the week of Spring Break, and WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Round Rock requires that the City Council hold at least two regular meetings each month and as many additional meetings as it deems necessary to transact the business of the City and its citizens and the City Council has, pursuant to the Charter directions, set the second and fourth Thursdays of each month as the two regular monthly meetings, and WHEREAS, because of the conflict with Spring Break, the Council deems it necessary to reschedule the first regularly scheduled meeting for the month of March, 2003, Now Therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That the first regularly scheduled meeting for the month of March, 2003, is hereby rescheduled to the 6th of March, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. 0:\wdox\ORDINANC\030213B1.PD/o20228b2/sc II. That this Ordinance is effective for the year of 2003 only. III. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Alternative 1. By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with. Consider an ordinance rescheduling the March 13, 2003 meeting of the Round Rock City Council to March 6, 2003 due to Spring Break. Mayor Maxwell asked that this item be considered with the consent of the Council due to the several members of the Council being out of town for Spring Break. This ordinance will comply with the City Charter and the ordinance that sets the schedule for the Council to meet. This ordinance rescheduling the second meeting in March will only be applicable for this year. Mayor Maxwell and Mayor Pro -tem Neilson are the sponsors of this agenda item.
