G-00-12-21-8A1 - 12/21/2000ORDINANCE NO. lT- 00- - a1- S i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CODE BY DESIGNATING THE FOLLOWING INTERSECTIONS AS ALL -WAY STOP INTERSECTIONS: SETTLEMENT DRIVE AND GULF WAY, AND SETTLEMENT DRIVE AND LAKESIDE LOOP; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That pursuant to Section 9.800, Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, the below described intersections are hereby designated as all -way stop intersections: ALL -WAY STOP INTERSECTIONS Settlement Drive and Gulf Way Settlement Drive and Lakeside Loop II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was K:\WPDOCS\ORDINANC\001214C1.WPD/sc open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act. Consider an ordinance designating the following intersections as all way stop at the intersections: Settlement Drive and Gulf Way and Settlement Drive and Lakeside Loop. (Second Reading) The first reading of the ordinance was approved on December 14, 2000. Resource: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director Tom Word, Traffic Engineer History: Settlement Drive is a neighborhood collector serving a residential neighborhood in which new streets and new houses have been constructed at a steady pace over the last few years. The level of development and traffic volume have finally reached a point to justify approval of All Way Stop intersection control at these two intersections. Funding: Cost: $200 per sign x 4 signs = $800 Source of funds: General Fund/Public Works/Operating Budget Outside Resources: None Benefit: Increased traffic safety for the neighborhood.
