In the changing environment of policing, there has been a continuous shift in leading. Leaders must react quickly to critical issues involving day-to-day operations and in progress situations in the community while maintaining the values of the Department and the City. In an effort to better meet the needs of the Department and community, the Department wishes to host two consecutive one day training classes that focus on decision making, dealing with problematic employees, delegating assignments, performance evaluations, broken window theory and other aspects of management using the Community Policing model. The Department intends to have supervisors attend one of the training sessions in an effort to help them become more effective and efficient leaders in both everyday and high stress operations.
