G-00-04-27-11B2 - 4/27/2000ORDINANCE NO. a -cc -04 -J7 -118a) AN ORDINANCE RESCHEDULING THE SECOND REGULAR JULY MEETING OF THE ROUND ROCK CITY COUNCIL FOR THE MONTH OF JULY, 2000; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League's Institute for Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners is scheduled to be held July 27th through July 29, 2000, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and WHEREAS, the second regularly scheduled July meeting of the Round Rock City Council falls on a day during the conference (July 27, 2000), and WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Round Rock requires that the City Council hold at least two regular meetings each month and as many additional meetings as it deems necessary to transact the business of the City and its citizens and the City Council has, pursuant to the Charter directions, set the second and fourth Thursdays of each month as the two regular monthly meetings, and WHEREAS, because of the conflict caused by the conference, the Council deems it necessary to reschedule the second regularly scheduled meeting for the month of July, 2000, Now Therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I . K:\WPDOCS\ORDINANC\000427B2.WPD/sc That the second regularly scheduled meeting for the month of July, 2000, is hereby rescheduled to the 25th of July, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. II. That this Ordinance is effective for the year of 2000 only. III. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act. By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with. 2. Consider an ordinance changing the Thursday, July 27, 2000 City Council meeting to Tuesday, July 25, 2000. (First Reading) In order to allow the Council to attend the Institute of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners sponsored by the Texas Municipal League the July 27, 2000 regular meeting of the City Council needs to be moved to July 25, 2000.
