AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1, SECTION 1.2200, CODE
OF ORDINANCES (1995 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
TO PROVIDE FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF A
MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING FEE AND A MUNICIPAL COURT
TECHNOLOGY FEE; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS, THAT:
I.
That Chapter 1, Section 1.2200, Code of Ordinances (1995
Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended by adding a new
section to read as follows:
1.2204 MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING SECURITY FEE
The municipal court is authorized to collect a municipal court building security fee of
$3.00 per conviction. The fees collected pursuant to this subsection shall be paid into the
city treasury for deposit in a fund to be known as the municipal court building security
fund. Funds collected pursuant to this subsection shall be expended as authorized by
Article 102.017 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, as amended.
II.
That Chapter 1, Section 1.2200, Code of Ordinances (1995
Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended by adding a section
to read as follows:
1.2205 MUNICIPAL COURT TECHNOLOGY FEE
The municipal court is authorized to collect a municipal court technology fee of $4.00 per
conviction. The fees collected pursuant to this subsection shall be paid into the city
treasury for deposit in a fund to be known as the municipal court technology fund. Funds
collected pursuant to this subsection shall be expended as authorized by Article 102.0172
of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, as amended.

In accordance with Article 102.0172 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, this
subsection and the assessment of the collection of the municipal court technology fee
expires September 1, 2005. The purpose of the use of any funds remaining in the fund
shall continue to be used and administered as required by Article 102.0172 of the Texas
Code of Criminal Procedure and for that purpose this subsection remains in effect.
M.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written
notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which
this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which
this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed,
considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open
Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and
the Act.
Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for
reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.
