BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, THAT: I . That Chapter 1, Section 1.1102, Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: 1.1102 MACHINE IMPRINTED FACSIMILE SIGNATURES AUTHORIZED Under authority of Section 8.08 of the Round Rock Home Rule Charter, all checks, vouchers or warrants for withdrawal of money from the city depositories hereafter can be signed by machine imprinted facsimile signatures of the mayor and city manager of the City of Round Rock. II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, K:\WPDOCS\ORDINANC\000224B1.WPD/sc considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act. STLUKA, JR., Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas 2 DATE: February 18, 2000 SUBJECT: City Council Meeting — February 24, 2000 ITEM: 10.B.1 Consider an ordinance amending Section 1.1102 Code of Ordinances, "Authorized Machine Imprinted Facsimile Signatures." (First Reading) Currently, the City Code requires all bank drafts to be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by the City Manager, with the Mayor's signature permitted to be machine imprinted. This amendment includes the City Manager's signature as an authorized machine imprinted facsimile. Staff Resource Person: David Kautz, Finance Director Automation of the signature imprinting will improve the efficiency of the disbursement process and appropriate accounting controls are in place to protect the City against unauthorized disbursement of funds. Additionally, the accounting controls and automated draft signing process are subject to review by the City's auditors.
