AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.502, CODE
OF ORDINANCES (1995 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS
CHANGING THE SPEED ZONE ON WYOMING SPRINGS DRIVE
FROM R.M. 620 TO 980' NORTH OF PARK VALLEY BOULEVARD;
PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 545.352 of the Texas Transportation Code
establishes prima facie reasonable and prudent speed limits for
streets and highways situated in the state of Texas, and
WHEREAS, Section 545.356 of the Texas Transportation Code
authorizes the governing body of a municipality to alter, by
ordinance, prima facie speed limits pursuant to an engineering and
traffic investigation, and
WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic investigation was
conducted on Wyoming Springs Drive from R.M. 620 to 980' north of
Park Valley Boulevard on the 18th day of August, 1999, and
WHEREAS, a copy of said engineering and traffic study is
attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes as Exhibit
"A", and
WHEREAS, the results of said engineering and traffic
investigation indicate that the speed limit on Wyoming Springs
Drive from R.M. 620 to 980' north of Park Valley Boulevard should
be 40 miles per hour, Now Therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS:
I.
That Chapter 9, Section 9.502(6), of the Code of Ordinances
(1995 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, (The maximum prima facie
speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour along the following
streets:) is hereby amended by adding the following:

(both directions) Valley Boulevard
FROM TO
R.M. 620 980' north of Park
H.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written
notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which
this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which
this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed,
considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open
Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and
the Act.

12.D.3. Consider an ordinance establishing a 40 -mph speed zone on
Wyoming Springs from RM 620 to 980 feet North of Park Valley
Boulevard. (Second Reading) This speed zone is a result of the
findings of the Traffic and Engineering Study. The first reading of
the ordinance was approved on January 13, 2000. Staff Resource
