AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PARTIAL EXEMPTION FROM AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR CERTAIN QUALIFIED HISTORICALLY
SIGNIFICANT PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE
AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS, THAT:
I.
That the owners of the following real properties, described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, have complied with Chapter 11, Section
11.419, Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock,
Texas.
II.
That the real properties described in Exhibit "A" be granted
an exemption of seventy-five percent (75%) of the assessed value of
the structure and land for the year 1997, pursuant to the
provisions of said Section 11.419.
III.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for
reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

The HPC recommended approval of the attached properties on May 20, 1997. All
applications meet the criteria for preservation and maintenance of Section 11.419(7) of
the City of Round Rock Zoning Ordinance.
Note: The Historic Preservation Commission met on May 20, 1997 and disapproved two
properties (609 E. Liberty Ave. and 204 E. Main St.) from the 1997 original tax
abatement list.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: The estimated tax abatement for 1997 is $19,808 based on the
1997 appraised value and a city rate of $.39880.
