CHARLES CULPER, Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas DATE: April 4, 1997 SUBJECT: City Council Meeting, April 10, 1997 ITEM: 13B. Consider an ordinance prohibiting parking on portions of both sides of West Liberty Ave. from North Mays Street to Round Rock Ave. (Second Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Jim Nuse STAFF RECOMMENDATION: On street parking on West Liberty Avenue between N. Mays Street to Round Rock Avenue is creating a congestion, safety and street maintenance problem. The existing pavement width is too narrow (approximately 28 feet wide) to allow cars to park on the pavement without restricting two way traffic on the street which creates a safety and congestion problem. Other vehicles park in the grass and ditches adjacent to the street creating a muddy side road maintenance problem. Staff recommends restricting on street parking for portions of the street to address these concerns.
