GATTIS SCHOOL ROAD
No Parking Zone
(South Creek Area)
i /
DATE: March 5, 1999
SUBJECT: City Council Meeting — March 11, 1999
ITEM: 13.B.1. Consider an ordinance prohibiting parking on both sides of South
Creek Drive from Juniper Trail south to Gattis School Road.
(Second Reading) The South Creek Neighborhood is concerned about
changes in traffic that will occur when the apartments are constructed
on both sides of South Creek Drive at Gattis School Road. The
neighborhood association has requested that parking be prohibited on
both sides of South Creek Drive if the apartments are constructed. The
Development Review Board approved the construction of the
apartments at their February 4, 1999 with conditions. One of the
recommendations was the implementation of a No Parking zone on
both sides of South Creek Drive adjacent to the proposed apartment
complex. Public Works staff has evaluated the recommendations and
believes it is appropriate to establish the No Parking zone on both
sides of South Creek Drive from Juniper Trail south to Gattis School
Road at this time because of existing traffic conditions. The first
reading of the ordinance was approved on February 25, 1999. Staff
Resource Person: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director.
