DATE: July 23, 1996
SUBJECT: City Council Agenda, July 25, 1996
ITEM: 9G. Consider an ordinance changing the November 14, 1996 City
Council meeting to November 7, 1996 and the December 26,
1996 City Council meeting to December I9, 1996. (First Reading)
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joanne Land
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The annual Texas Municipal League conference will be
held November 13, 1996 through November 16, 1996. Several Councilmembers have
indicated interest in attending the conference. In order to make that possible, the first
regular Council meeting in November needs to be changed. Staff recommends the
Council consider changing the November 14, 1996 Council meeting to the first Thursday
of November which is November 7, 1996.
The last Council meeting in December falls the day after Christmas Day. In order for
Council and staff to take a few days off around the holidays, staff recommends changing
the December 26, 1996 Council meeting to Thursday, December 19, 1996.
