AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE AND TIME FOR TWO PUBLIC
HEARINGS TO BE HELD IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THE
PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS TO WIT: 40.464 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE
SOCRATES DARLING SURVEY, NO.102 AND THE MEMUCAN HUNT
SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 314; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
I.
On the 21st day of May, 1996, at 6:00 o'clock P.M. in the City
Council Chambers, City of Round Rock, Texas, the City Council will
hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to
appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Round
Rock, Texas, of 40.464 acres of land out of the Socrates Darling
Survey No. 102 and the Memucan hunt Survey, Abstract No. 314,
Williamson County, ("the Property,") more particularly described in
Exhibit "A".
On the 23rd day of May, 1996, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the City
Council Chambers, City of Round Rock, Texas, the City Council will
hold a second public hearing giving all interested persons the right
to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Round
Rock, Texas, of the Property.
II.
The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish
notice of said public hearings in the official newspaper in accordance
with §43.052, Local Government Code.

III.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance
shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote
of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading this
ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

ACRES OUT OF THE SOCRATES DARLING SURVEY No. 102 AND THE

COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING OUT OF AND A PART OF THAT
CERTAIN TRACT CALLED 68.794 ACRES IN TRAVIS AND

THENCE with a north line of said Ayer tract and south R.O.W. line
of County Road 170, N78 -39'40"E for a distance of 50.14 feet to a
1/2" iron rod found at the northerly northeast corner of said Ayer
tract and northwest corner of Tract 1 described in said deed to
Round Rock Industrial Park of record in Volume 980, page 925 of the
Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, for the northerly
northeast corner hereof
THENCE with an east line of said Ayer tract and west line of said
Tract 1, S13 -22'46"E for a distance of 808.75 feet to a 1/2" iron
rod found at the northerly southwest corner of said Tract 1 and an

for a distance of 91.81 feet to a 1/2" iron rod found at the

Staff Recommendation: Approval
The purpose of this annexation is to facilitate the development of the
Remington Heights Subdivision. The first two phases of development
(Section 1 Phases A and B) have been approved by the Planning and Zoning
Commission, subsequent to provision of an additional major water feed (per
the agreement with Public Works. Public hearings will be held on May 21,
1996 at 6:00 (special called) and on May 23, 1996 at the regular meeting.
A timetable for the annexation and zoning process is attached.
