AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE AND TIME FOR TWO PUBLIC
HEARINGS TO BE HELD IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE
CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC
HEARINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
I.
On the 13th day of April, 1995, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the
City Council Chambers, City of Round Rock, Texas, the City Council
will hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right
to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of
Round Rock, Texas, of the property ("Property") described in
Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein.
On the 18th day of April, 1995, at 6:00 o'clock P.M. in the
City Council Chambers, City of Round Rock, Texas, the City Council
will hold a second public hearing giving all interested persons the
right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City
of Round Rock, Texas, of the Property.
II.
The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
publish notice of said public hearings in the official newspaper in
accordance with §43.052, Local Government Code.
III.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.

B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for
reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

FIELDNOTE DESCRIPTION
BEING a 32.584 acre tract of land out of the P.A. Holder Survey, Abstract
No.297 in Williamson County Texas, said land being a portion of that
certain 72.18 acre tract of land conveyed to Round Rock Independant
School District as described in Deed Volume 1617, Page 628 Deed Records
of Williamson County Texas, said 32.584 acre tract being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2 inch iron rod found in east right-of-way of County
Road 115 (Sunrise Road) (70' wide R.O.W.) marking the northwest corner
of lot 27, Block "Q" of Mesa Ridge, Section 9 recorded in Cabinet "E"
Slide 174 Plat Records Williamson County Texas;
THENCE along the said east R.O.W. line of County Road 115 the following
three (3) courses:
North 00°19'29" East, a distance of 24.94 feet to a 1/2 inch iron
rod found;
North 00°26'48" East, a distance of 543.72 feet to a 1/2 inch
rod found;
North 00°11'48" East, a distance of 260.82 feet to a 1/2 inch
rod set for the northwest corner of the herein described tract,
same being the intersection of the said east R.O.W. line of County
Road 115 with the proposed south line of Bowman Road;
THENCE departing the said east R.O.W. line of County Road 115 and along
the proposed South line of Bowman Road the following two (2) courses:
North 70°40'55" East, a distance of 1206.02 feet to a 1/2 inch
iron rod found for the point of curvature of a circular curve
to the right having a radius of 1,960 feet;
Along said curve to the right through a central angle of 05°57'39",
an arc length of 203.91 feet a chord bearing North 73°40'12" East,
a chord distance of 203.82 feet to a 1/2 inch rod set for the
northeast corner of the herein described tract;
THENCE departing the said proposed south line of Bowman Road and crossing
through aforesaid 72.18 acre tract, South 00°08'08" West, a distance
of 1,288.92 feet to a 1/2 inch rod found marking the northeast corner
of Lot 10 of Mesa Ridge, Section 8, a subdivision recorded in Cabinet
"E", Slide 172 Plat Records of Williamson County Texas;
THENCE with the north line of said Mesa Ridge section 8, North
89°51'36"West, a distance of 254.80 to a 1/2 inch iron rod found marking
the northwest corner of aforesaid Mesa Ridge, Section 9;
THENCE with the north line of said Mesa Ridge, Section 9, North 89°51'52"
West , a distance of 1,081.14 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and
containing a calculated area of 32.584 acres of land.

a public hearing concerning annexation of a 32.584 acre
tract of land. (RRISD Middle School). (First Reading)

Staff Recommendation: Approval
The owner has submitted an application for voluntary annexation of 32.584
acres of land for the development of a new middle school. This is the first
step in the annexation process.
The first public hearing will be conducted on April 13, 1995 at the regular
Council meeting. The second hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. in a special
called Council meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 1995. The timetable for
annexation and original zoning is attached.
