AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PARTIAL EXEMPTION FROM AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR CERTAIN QUALIFIED HISTORICALLY
SIGNIFICANT PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
OF ROUND ROCK TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS, THAT:
I.
The owners of the following real properties, described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, have complied with §11.419, Code of
Ordinances (1990 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas.
H.
The real properties described in Exhibit "A" be granted an
exemption of seventy-five percent (75%) of the assessed value of
the structure and land for the year 1994, pursuant to the
provisions of §11.419, Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City of
Round Rock, Texas.
III.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof. /-

RECOMMENDATION: Approval
The purpose of the Historic Preservation 75% municipal tax exemption, as allowed
under the City of Round Rock Zoning Ordinance, is to encourage the renovation
and maintenance of historic structures within the City of Round Rock.
The HPC recommended approval of thirty-nine (39) properties on May 17, 1994.
All applications meet the present criteria, that states that the structures be
maintained in accordance with City of Round Rock Zoning Ordinance
specifications.
Economic Impact: Total tax abatement equals $16,059 based on the 1994 appraised
value and a city rate of .56924.
