G-93-10-14-8A - 10/14/1993ORDINANCE NO. qo/ Li _� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, CODE OF ORDINANCES (1990 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, BY ADDING SECTION 3.114 REGULATING VISIBILITY OF ADDRESSES OF BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, THAT: I. That Chapter 3, Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended by adding Section 3.114 which shall read as follows: 3.114 ALL PRINCIPAL BUILDINGS SHALL DISPLAY ADDRESS THAT IS CLEARLY MARKED AND LEGIBLE Each principal building shall display the number assigned to the frontage on which the front entrance is located. Numerals indicating the official numbers for each principal building or each front entrance to such building shall be posted in a manner as to be clearly marked and legible and distinguishable from the street on which the property is located, with letters painted or applied, of a contrasting color to the background, of not less than two and one-half inches (21/2") in height. If a building or dwelling is situated in such a way that the numbers can not be easily seen from the roadway in front of said structure then a sign or number post must be used in front of the structure and placed in such a way that it can be easily seen from the roadway. II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. KS/ORDINANCE OR10143A Alternative 1. The installation of neighborhood numbered box units at a single location has lessened the need for an address on every house.
