AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES (1990 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK:
SECTION 1.2304 TO PROVIDE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR
THE GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD; SECTION 3.903(3) TO
PROVIDE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ELECTRICAL
EXAMINING AND ADVISORY BOARD; SECTION 11.105 TO
PROVIDE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PLANNING
AND ZONING COMMISSION; SECTION 11.405 TO PROVIDE
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS
CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR
RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS, THAT:
I.
That Section 1.2304, Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City
of Round Rock, is hereby amended to read as follows:
1.2304 ATTENDANCE
Any board member appointed by the City Council who misses
three (3) consecutive meetings shall forfeit his position
and his replacement will be appointed by the City Council
to fill the unexpired term.
II.
That Section 3.903(3), Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City
of Round Rock, is hereby amended by adding paragraph (h) to read as
follows:
(h) Any Board member who misses three (3) consecutive
meetings shall forfeit his position and his replacement
will be appointed by the City Council to fill the
unexpired term.

That Section 11.105, Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City
of Round Rock, is hereby amended by adding a paragraph (4) to read
as follows:
(4) Attendance
Any commission member who misses three (3) consecutive
meetings shall forfeit his position and his replacement
will be appointed by the City Council to fill the
unexpired term.
IV.
That Section 11.405(2), Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition),
City of Round Rock, is hereby amended to read as follows:
(2) Terms of Appointment
All members shall be appointed for terms of two (2) years
or until their successor is appointed. Vacancies shall
be filled for an unexpired term in the manner in which
original appointments are required to be made. Any
commission member who misses three (3) consecutive
meetings shall forfeit his position had his replacement
will be appointed by the City Council to fill the
unexpired term.
V.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for
reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

for Boards and Commissions. (First Reading)
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joanne Land
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: At the Council's request, staff prepared the attached
ordinance which sets out attendance requirements for all Board and Commission
members. As presented no Board or Commission member can miss more than 3
(three) consecutive meetings. They will automatically be ineligible to continue
their term if they miss more than three consecutive meetings.
