O-92-2590 - 9/24/1992ORDINANCE NO. 1590 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, CODE OF ORDINANCES (1990 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK; ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.1200 PROVIDING FOR SUBDIVISION INSPECTION FEES; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That Chapter 8, Code of Ordinances (1990 Edition), City of Round Rock is hereby amended by adding a new section 8.1200 which shall read as follows: SECTION 8.1200 SUBDIVISION INSPECTION FEES A Subdivision Inspection Fee shall be paid to the City for the inspection of subdivision improvements, including water, wastewater, street and drainage improvements. The Sub- division Inspection Fee shall be due prior to acceptance by the Council of the subdivision improvements. The Subdivision Inspection Fee shall be equal to one and one-half percent (1 1/2%) of the actual total construction costs of installing and constructing the water, wastewater, street and drainage improvements. The City Engineer may require the owner/ developer of the subdivision to submit an engineer's certificate as to the actual construction costs of the aforesaid improvements. II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. READ and APPROVED on first reading this the of TiLLelL,1 , 1992. Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 8, Section 8.1100, Code of Ordinances, 1990 Edition, City of Round Rock, Texas by providing a subdivision inspection fee for water, wastewater and street and drainage improvements. (Second Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joe Vining STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval On August 6, 1992, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended an inspection fee for the installation of water, wastewater, paving, and drainage works related to subdivision development. This inspection fee will be established at 1-1/2 percent of the contract price for these works. The funds from these fees have been included in the proposed 1992-93 budget for the City of Round Rock. Economic Impact: This is projected to raise $36,000.00 in revenue in FY 1992-93.
