O-92-2574 - 6/11/1992ORDINANCE NO. 25 7 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PARTIAL EXEMPTION FROM AD VALOREM TAXES FOR CERTAIN QUALIFIED HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That the owners of the following real properties, described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, have complied with Chapter 11, Section 11.419, Code of Ordinances, (1990 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas. II. That the real properties described in Exhibit "A" be granted an exemption of seventy-five percent (75%) of the assessed value of the structure and land for the year 1992, pursuant to the provisions of said Section 11.419. III. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. Alternative 1. By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with. Consider an ordinance approving tax abatement for certain historic properties. (First Reading) RESOURCE PERSON: Joe Vining STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval The HPC recommended approval of 26 applications. All these applications meet the present criteria, which states that the structure be maintained in accordance with minimum property, structural and health standards. Economic Impact: Total tax abatement will equal approximately $10,372. This is based on the 1991 assessed value and the present city tax rate of .62479.
