WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into a
contract for engineering services ("Contract") with Camp Dresser &
McKee, Inca for the Water Treatment Plant Improvements, Phase IV
Expansion, and
WHEREAS, Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. has submitted Amendment No.
3 to the Contract to include the additional design of construction
phase services, as more particularly described in the attached
Amendment No. 3, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Amendment
No. 3 to the Contract with Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Amendment No. 3 to the Contract with Camp Dresser &
McKee, Inc. to include the additional design of construction phase
services, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto and
incorporated herein for all purposes.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act.

AMENDMENT NO. 3
Amend the Contract for Engineering Services dated February 11, 1999 between the City
of Round Rock, Texas ("City") and Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. ("Engineer") as follows:
ATTACHMENT B.3
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
a) Add the following at the end of this paragraph: "The project also includes the
design of replacement of one transformer, lighting design at the pump station
vault and air conditioning design for the existing electrical building.
PROJECT NEED
a) Add the following at the end of this paragraph: "The replacement of one
transformer and cooling of the existing electrical building provides greater
reliability for pumping water to the water treatment plant. The addition of
lighting improves safety and security at the site.
ATTACHMENT D
WATER TREATMENT PLANT RAW WATER PUMP STATION CONTRACT
a) In the first sentence, change $345,500.00 to $372,500.00.
b) In the table, change the Design Phase Services line item from $175,000.00 to
$199,000.00.
c) In the table, change the Construction Phase Services line item from $51,000.00 to
$54,000.00.
d) In the table, change the Total from $345,500.00 to $372,500.00.

SUBJECT: City Council Meeting — February 8, 2001
ITEM: 9.C.1. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No.3
to the Contract for Engineering Services with Camp Dresser & McKee,
Inc. for the Water Treatment Plant Improvements, Phase IV Expansion.
The total fee for this amendment is $27,000.00. This amendment will
consist of professional services to design, bid and provide construction phase
services for improvements to the City's Raw Water Pump Station. The Raw
Water Pump Station improvements to be designed under this amendment are
to replace one electric transformer, add lighting at the pump station vaults
and an HVAC system to the existing electrical building.

Impact: Is to maintain the integrity and reliability of our Raw Water Pump Station to deliver raw

is $145,000.00.
Benefit: Is to minimize the potential of system failure, which could result in critical water
shortages to our customers. Also, the new lighting at the vaults will provide a much
safer environment for City's staff.
