O-89-2441 - 12/28/1989ORDINANCE NO. 2441 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUED TAXATION OF FREEPORT PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. All of that property described in the Texas Constitution, Article VIII, Sec. 1-j, shall be fully taxable in the City of Round Rock, Texas beginning January 1, 1990. II. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. (Second Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Bob Bennett STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Ordinance making Freeport property fully taxable. ECONOMIC IMPACT: Please see the attached estimate of tax revenue that would be lost if the property is exempted. The estimate is preliminary and may be too low. Actual losses may be in the area of $75,000 to $100,000.
