AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING CITY COUNCILMEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK'S HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN, AS PROVIDED
FOR IN SECTION 3.04, CITY CHARTER, CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
I.
That, as additional compensation and in accordance with Section
3.04, City Charter, City of Round Rock, Texas, City Councilmembers
are hereby allowed to participate in the City of Round Rock's Health
Insurance Plan.
II.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement for reading
this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed with.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends allowing the Council members and families
the option to participate in the City's Health Insurance
Plan effective June 1, 1989, which would allow the option of
choosing coverage under current plan Blue Cross/Blue Shield
or Texas Health Plans.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: $7,417.76
