O-88-2371 - 11/22/1988ORDINANCE NO. i r7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 14.A., SCHEDULE II, SCHOOL ZONES, PARAGRAPH (1), CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, MAKING CERTAIN ADDITIONS TO SAID SECTION; THEREBY DECLARING THE MAXIMUM PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS UPON COUGAR LANE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, PURSUANT TO AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE "UNIFORM ACT REGULATING TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS" (VERNON'S ANN. CIV. STAT. ART. 6701d); AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. Based upon an engineering and traffic investigation and pursuant to and in accordance with, the provisions of the "Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways" (Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, article 6701d), the City Council hereby determines and declares that except when a special hazard exists that requires lower speeds in order to avoid colliding with any person, vehicle or other conveyance on or entering a section shall be specified in this street or highway, the limits, specified in this lawful, but any speed in excess of the limits section shall be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable or prudent and that it is unlawful. II. That Chapter 9, Section 14.A, Schedule II, School Zones, Paragraph (1), Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended by adding the following: ON Cougar Lane A. conflict B. FROM TO Deepwood Drive Oakridge Drive III. All ordinances, parts of ordinances or resolutions in herewith are expressly repealed. This ordinance establishes a 20 MPH School Zone, from 7:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on school days, for the entire length of Cougar Lane adjacent to Chisholm Valley Middle School. ECONOMIC IMPACT: The cost of signs and installation.
