O-88-2364 - 10/27/1988ORDINANCE NO. 4-2,36c/' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, SECTION 2, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS; BY AMENDING FEES FOR ISSUANCE OF PERMITS; BY AMENDING REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFERABILITY OF LICENSE, BY AMENDING FEES FOR INITIAL ISSUANCE OF LICENSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: I. That Chapter 5, Section 2.D., Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock, is hereby amended by deleting paragraph (9) and substituting the following: (9) Permit Fees Permits authorized by the provisions of subsection D(1)(c) of this section shall be issued only upon payment of the appropriate fee as set out in the following schedule: (a) Class A Permit --One hundred fifty ($150.00) dollars --Class A permits will be issued for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days. One (1) extention not to exceed ten (10) calendar days may be approved by the City Engineer without additional fees. (b) Class B Permit --Three hundred fifty ($350.00) dollars --Class B permits will be issued for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. One (1) extension not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days may be approved by the City Engineer without additional fees. (c) Class C Permit --Five hundred fifty ($550.00) --Class C permits will be issued for a period of one (1) year and may be renewed annually subject to the requirements for obtaining a permit. Renewal fees shall be five hundred fifty ($550.00) dollars. (d) Class D Permit --One hundred ($100.00) dollars --Class D permits will be issued for a period of ten (10) calendar days. The various City of Round Rock departments, the utilities and City franchise holders, where normally engaged in such work as described in this Section shall not be required to pay permit fees. II. That Chapter 5, Section 2.G., Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock, is hereby amended by deleting paragraph (4) and substituting the following: (4) License Fee A fee of one hundred ($100.00) dollars shall be charged for initial issuance. C32ORDFEESP That Chapter 5, Section 2.G., Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock, is hereby amended by adding a paragraph (8), which shall read as follows: (8) Acceptance of City of Austin Licenses A valid City of Austin license applicable to the respective blasting classification shall satisfy these blasting requirements. IV. A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. READ AND APPROVED on first reading this the day of , 1988. (Second Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Jim Nuse STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Last spring, the technical requirements of the blasting ordinance was updated. Now we propose to increase the blasting rates to coinside with area costs and also to more accurately offset city codes. ECONOMIC IMPACT: These increase fees will help defray the costs incurred in processing and monitoring blasting within the City's jurisdiction.
