SUBJECT: Council Agenda, August 11, 1988
ITEM: 9C. Consider an ordinance amending the Traffic Code by designating
no parking in downtown alleyways. (Second Reading)
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joe Vining
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
This ordinance will prohibit parking in downtown alleyways for
Blocks 9, 10, 21, and 22. These alleys are used for deliveries
to and from businesses. The parking interferes with deliveries,
garbage collection, and possibly fire protection, The attached
map shows the alleys affected.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: The cost of installing "No Parking" signs at the
entrance of these alleys.
