AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1, SECTION 22, CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, GRANTING
AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS TO A CONTRACT WHICH HAS BEEN
EXECUTED AND PERFORMANCE BEGUN, AND NUMBERING THE
PARAGRAPHS IN SECTION 22.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS.
That Chapter 1, Section 22, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 22: GENERAL AUTHORITY TO CONTRACT FOR EXPENDITURES
AND APPROVE CERTAIN CHANGE ORDERS
A. General Authority to Contract for Expenditures
The City Manager is hereby given general
authority to contract for expenditures
involving five thousand dollars ($5,000.00)
or less, provided that there is a sufficient
unencumbered appropriation and allotment
balance to pay for the supplies, materials,
equipment, or contractual services for which
the contract or order is to be issued.
B. Change Order
The City Manager or his designee may approve
change orders under the following conditions.
1) Any change involving a decrease
or increase in cost of fifteen
thousand dollars ($15,000.00) or
less, and
2) provided, however, that the
original contract price may not be
increased by more than twenty-five
percent (25%) or decreased more
than twenty-five percent (25%)
without the consent of the
Contractor to such decrease.

This ordinance authorizes the City Manager or his designee
to approve contract change orders up to $15,000 or twenty-five (25%) per
cent of the contract price, whichever is less. The original contract
price may not be decreased more than twenty five (25%) per cent without
the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
