O-86-2255 - 10/23/1986ORDINANCE NO. 2255 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTION :J(9 (D) ELECTRICAL CODE, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF ROUND. ROCK, TEXAS TO ALLOW ALUMINUM CONDUCTORS UNDER CERTA CONDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. BE. IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS. That Chapter 3 Section 8G(9) (o) Code. of Ordinances, City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read. as follows: (b)(i) Aluminum conductors w be authorized from the service drop, or lateral, to the service disconnect; provided however that Aluminum Service Entrance Cable, Type SE Style R(SER), AWG 4 or larger, may be used as feeder conductors to branch cirnuit panel boards in res 1 dent i occupancies. (b)(ii)Aluminium conductors sized 500 MCM and larger may be permittedin panel to panel installations subject to approved methods of installations and approved connectors. Such approvals will be at the sole discretion of the Chief Elettrical Inspector on a case by case basis. A. The invalidity of any section or provision of. this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. n. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. (Second Reading) In order to permit allowable uses for aluminum wire, as determined by the Electrical Review Board, the Council is requested to permit the use of 500 mcm or larger aluminum wire in panel to panel installations.
