O-85-2170 - 4/11/1985ORDINANCE NO. 2170 AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE POPULATION OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK EXCEEDS 25,000 INHABITANTS. WHEREAS, the City Staff has conducted a survey to determine the current population of the City of Round Rock, and WHEREAS, the Staff made a utility survey to determine the current number of water meters, electrical meters and certificates of occupancy in order to make a comparison with the number of meters and certificates of occupancy that existed in 1981 when the Federal census indicated that the population of the City was 12,740, and WHEREAS, based on said survey the number of water meters indicates a population of 25,834; the number of electrical meters indicates a population of 26,387; and the number of certificates of occupancy indicates a population of 27,287, and WHEREAS, each method employed by the City Staff indicates that on April 11, 1985, the population of the City is in excess of 25,000 inhabitants; Now Therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS I. That the Council finds, determines and declares that the City of Round Rock now has a population in excess of 25,000 inhabitants and is now subject to all of the statutes of the State of Texas prescribing municipal powers, functions, rights and privileges for cities of more than 25,000 inhabitants. (Mark through the following alternative that is not applicable) Alternative 1.
