AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3A,
SECTION 4A, SECTION 5A, SECTION 6A, SECTION 8A, AND
CHAPTER 5, SECTION 1A, CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
CERTAIN NATIONAL AND STANDARD CODES RELATING TO
INSPECTION ACTIVITIES OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS AND ENFORCEMENT OF BUILDING PROVISIONS AS
PROVIDED IN SAID CODES.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Round Rock, Texas to adopt, in all respects, the
various National and Standard Codes relating to housing,
plumbing, gas, mechanical, swimming pools, electrical and
fire prevention and
WHEREAS, the adoption of these Codes is done to
facilitate proper inspection activities by the City of Round
Rock, Texas, relating to construction and to maintenance of
buildings within the corporate limits of said town and
relating to public safety, health and general welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS
I.
That Chapter 3, Section 3A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:
A. STANDARD HOUSING CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Housing Code, 1982 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be on file
in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference
and all regulations, parts, notations, references,
and specifications therein are hereby adopted and
made a part of this Section except as deleted or
amended hereafter.
II.
That Chapter 3, Section 4A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:
A. STANDARD PLUMBING CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Plumbing Code, 1982 with amendments,
one (1) copy of which shall be on file in the
office of the City Secretary, is hereby adopted by
reference and all regulations, parts, notations,
references, and specifications therein are hereby
adopted and made a part of this Section except as
deleted or amended hereafter.

That Chapter 3, Section 5A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:
A. STANDARD GAS CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Gas Code, 1982 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which is on file in the
office of the City Secretary of the City of Round
Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference and all
regulations, parts, notations, references, and
specifications therein are hereby adopted and made
a part of this Section except as deleted or amended
hereafter.
IV.
That Chapter 3, Section 6A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:
A. STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Mechanical Code, 1982 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be on file
in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference
and all regulations, parts, notations, references,
and specifications therein are hereby adopted and
made a part of this Section except as deleted or
amended hereafter.
V.
That Chapter 3, Section 8A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:
A. NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTED
The National Electrical Code of the National Fire
Protection Association, being particularly the 1984
Edition, save and except such portions as are
hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended, of which
not less than one (1) copy has been and/or now is
filed in the office of the City Secretary of the
City of Round Rock, Texas, and the same is hereby
adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out in
length herein; and from the date of which this
Section shall take effect, the provisions hereof
shall be controlling in the construction,
alteration, maintenance or removal of all
electrical wiring and apparatus within the
corporate limits of the City of Round Rock, Texas.
VI.
That Chapter 5, Section 1A, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read:

A. STANDARD FIRE CODE ADOPTED
The Standard Fire Code, 1982 Edition with
amendments, one (1) copy of which shall be on file
in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted by reference
and all regulations, parts, notations, references,
and specifications therein are hereby adopted and
made a part of this Section except as deleted or
amended hereinafter.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirma-
tive vote of all the Council members present, the requirement
for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed
with.
