AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PARKS DEVELOPMENT GUIDE FOR
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AND AMENDING CHAPTER 11,
SECTION 2.B.(6) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS BY AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (6)(c),
(6)(e), AND (6)(f) TO REFLECT CURRENT PARKS AND
RECREATION POLICIES FOR THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:
I.
That the Parks Development Guide for the City of Round
Rock, Texas, is hereby adopted, and an official copy shall be
kept on file by the City Secretary.
II.
That Chapter 11, Section 2.B.(6)(c) Code of Ordinances,
City of Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as
follows:
(c) The City shall endeavor to provide an optimum
mix of recreational facilities consistent with
recognized planning standards.
III.
That Chapter 11, Section 2.B.(6)(e) Code of Ordinances,
City of Round Rock, Texas is hereby amended to read as
follows:
(e) The acquisition and continued development of the
park system shall be consistent with community
growth patterns:
(i) The City shall concentrate on the development
of a City Park and Community Parks.
(ii) The School -Park Concept shall be encouraged by
the City and the Round Rock Independent School
District. When possible, Neighborhood Parks
will be located adjacent to Elementary
schools.
IV.
That Chapter 11, Section 2.B>(6)(f) Code of Ordinances,
City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
(f) The City, in cooperation with all political
subdivisions shall encourage the establishment of
all kinds of parks.
