AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY, OR
OTHER ATTORNEY OR ATTORNEYS RETAINED BY THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, TO ACQUIRE
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY EDWARD D. QUICK FOR
USE AS A PUBLIC PARK.
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary for the
public good and welfare to take necessary steps to preserve
and protect the "round rock," the City's namesake, located
near the Chisholm Trail low water crossing of Brushy Creek,
and
WHEREAS, certain real property in the vicinity of the
"round rock", is suitable for use as a public park, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas,
has determined that real property should be acquired and set
aside for use as a public park, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City have authorized the
issuance of bonds to finance the acquisition, preservation,
and development of the area as a public park, and
WHEREAS, one of the tracts suitable and necessary for
the construction and establishment of a public park is
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and
WHEREAS, negotiations with the owner or owners of the
above-described tract to purchase said tract have not been
successful, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS
That the City Attorney or other attorneys retained by
the Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas, are hereby
authorized to proceed immediately with the acquisition by
eminent domain of the above described property for use by the
City of Round Rock, Texas, as a public park.

tive vote of all the Council members present, the requirement
for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed
with.

FIELD NOTES FOR 1.912 ACRES
FIELD NOTES describing a 1.912 acre tract or parcel of land out of the J. M.
Harrell Survey, Abstract No. 284, situated in the City of Round Rock, Williamson
County, Texas, being a portion of that certain 5.677 acres conveyed to Edward D.
Quick by deed recorded in Volume 599, Page 64 of the Deed Records of said
County, being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the centerline of Brushy Creek, being in the East right-
of-way line of Chisholm Trail Road, also being the Southwest corner of that cer-
tain 4.96 acres conveyed to E. L. Scott by deed recorded in Volume 537, Page 335
of said Deed Records, and the Northwest corner of said 5.677 acres, said point
also being the approximate centerline of "The Round Rock", a Texas state histor-
ical marker, being the Northwest corner and POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein-
after described 1.912 acres;
THENCE along the approximate centerline of said Brushy Creek, being the division
line between said 4.96 acres and said 5.677 acres, being the North line hereof,
S89°10'E, 474.25 feet to an iron pin set in the West right-of-way line of Inter-
state Highway No. 35, being the Northeast corner of said 5.677 acres, being the
Northeast corner hereof;
THENCE along said West right-of-way line, being the East line hereof, S11°42'E,
202.78 feet to an iron pin set in the 708.5 foot contour line, being the South-
east corner hereof;
THENCE departing said West right-of-way line, in a Westerly direction, along
said 708.5 foot contour line, being the South line hereof, the following three
(3) courses:
1) N83°27'W, 199.23 feet to an iron pin set, being an angle point hereof;
2) N79°47'W, 89.42 feet to an iron pin set, being an angle point hereof;
3) N87°09'W, 210.72 feet to an iron pin set in said East right-of-way line,
being the Southwest corner hereof;
THENCE along said East right-of-way line of said Chisholm Trail Road, being the
West line of said 5.677 acres, being the West line hereof, N06°54'W, 157.54 feet
to the POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein described tract of land containing 1.912
acres of land more or less.
I, Steven D. Kallman, a REGISTERED PUBLIC SURVEYOR, do hereby certify that these
field notes and attached plat accurately represent the results of an on -the -
ground survey made under my direction. and supervision on the 13th day of July,
1983. All corners located are as shown. There are no encroachments, conflicts
or protrusions apparent on the ground except as shown.
