ORDINANCE NO. 9640
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 24
OF THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK FROM
BROWN STREET TO ROUND ROCK AVENUE BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION
OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND AND REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
I.
That those portions of the alley in Block 24 of the
Original Plat of the City of Round Rock, which alley is
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be and the same is
hereby closed, abandoned, and permanently vacated as an alley
or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever.
II.
That the fee to the land in the above described portions
of said alley is released and will revert to the adjacent
owner as provided by law, save and except that easements are
reserved for any and all existing utilities with the right of
ingress and egress thereon for operating, enlarging, repair-
ing, maintaining, rebuilding, replacing, relocating, and
removing any existing public utilities.
III.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirma-
tive vote of all the Council members present, the requirement
for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed
with.

FIELD NOTES FOR 0'105 ACRE
FIELD NOTES describing a 0.105 acre tract or parcel of land, being all of a
twenty (20) foot wide alley in Block 24, Original Town of Round Rock, Texas,
as shown on a Plat of Record recorded in Volume 25, Page 314 of the Deed
Records of Williamson County, Texas, and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin found in the North line of Lot 7, of said Block 24,
being the intersection point of the South right-of-way line of Round Rock
Avenue, a 90 foot wide right-of-way, and the South right-of-way line of said
alley, for the Southeast corner and POINT OF BEGINNING
of the hereinafter
described 0'105 acre tract;
THENCE along the North line of Lots 7 through 15, of said Block 24, being
the South right-of-way line of said alley, for the South line hereof,
S72,35/N, 248.79 feet to a point, 1.80 feet South of and 0.55 feet East of
the Northwest corner of an existing building, being in the East right-of-way
line of Brown Street and the Northwest corner of said Lot 15, for the South-
west corner hereof;
THENCE along the East right-of-way line of said Brown Street, being the West
right-of-way line of said alley, for the West line hereof, N17"25'W, 20'00
feet to an iron pin set in the North right-of-way line of said alley, being
the Southwest corner of Lot 16, of said Block 24, for the Northwest corner
hereof;
THENCE along the South line of Lots 16 through 19, of said Bloch 24, being
the North right-of-way line of said alley, for the North line hereof,
N72"35'E, 208.79 feet to an iron pin set in the South right-of-way line of
said Round Rock Avenue, being the Southeast corner of said Lot 19, and the
Northeast corner of said alley, for the Northeast corner hereof;
THENCE along the South right-of-way line of said Round Rock Avenue, being
the East right-of-way line of said alley, for the East line hereof,
S80"51/E, 44.72 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein described tract
of land containing 0.105 acre or 4,576 square feet of land more or less.

REQUESTING THE CITY TO VACATE
CERTAIN -PROPERTY TO PETITIONERS
TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:
Now comes, Bertha M. Robertson, 211 W. Round Rock Ave., Round Rock,
Texas; Mrs. J.W. Ledbetter, 212 W. Main St., Round Rock, Texas; Equitable
Savings Association, 505 W Round Rock Ave, Round Rock, Texas and McKenzie-
Halladay Development, Inc., 1405 Brandi Lane, Round Rock, Texas who
respectfully petition the City of Round Rock and say,
I.
The petitioners purchased the property known as Block 24 of the Original
City of Round Rock located in the 200 block of West Main Street and West
Round Rock Avenue and have constructed, or plan to construct, various
buildings on said property.
II.
There is defined alleyway running east from Brown Street that is
contiguous with Lot 7 through 19. Said alleyway has not -been used by the
City of Round Rock or the public for more than the past twenty-five (25)
years. Said alleyway is not maintained by the City of Round Rock.
III.
Certain buildings that have been constructed and that are planned for
construction have been located in such a manner that they are within the
defined alleyway. Said encroachments could place a cloud on the title
of the petitioners, thus preventing them from conveying the subject
tracts.
Therefore, the petitioners respectfully request that the City Council
of Round Rock, Texas pass an ordinance instructing the Mayor of Round Rock,
Texas, LARRY TONN, to vacate said -alleyway described as a twenty (20) feet
strip of land on the 200 block between West Main Street and West Round
Rock Avenue on the rear of lots 7 through 15, block 24, and lots 16
through 19, block 24, plat of the Original City of Round Rock, Texas.
