O-82-954 - 4/22/1982ORDINANCE NO. 9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, SECTION 3.E.(1) CODE OF ORDINANCES TO DESIGNATE THE ANIMAL WARDEN AS THE LOCAL HEALTH AUTHORITY FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE RABIES CONTROL ACT OF 1981. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS I. That Chapter 2, Section 3.E.(1), Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: (1) Duties of Animal Warden The Chief of Police of the City of Round Rock shall appoint an Animal Warden and such other assistants as may be required. The Animal Warden and his assistants shall be under the supervision and control of the Chief of Police. It shall be the duty of the Animal Warden and his assistant to take up and impound all dogs running at -large and all dogs that do not have fastened around their necks the required tags, to keep and properly care for all dogs impounded, to destroy all dogs that have not been redeemed or sold, and to perform such other duties as may be directed by the Chief of Police under the terms of this Section. The Animal Warden is hereby designated as the local health authority for the purposes of Art. 4477-6a, V.A.T.S., (Rabies Control Act of 1981) and shall be responsible for performing all duties and responsibilities provided therein.
