AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1, CODE OF ORDI-
NANCES, BY ADDING SECTION 26, TITLED CITY
LIBRARY; CREATING THE ROUND ROCK LIBRARY BOARD;
PROVIDING FOR TERMS OF APPOINTMENT; PROVIDING
FOR A CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY; PROVIDING FOR
REGULAR MEETING AND A QUORUM; AND ESTABLISHING
THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE BOARD.
I.
That Chapter 1 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Round
Rock, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a Sectior} ,to be
numbered Section 26, which said Section shall read as follows:
SECTION 26: City Library
A. Library Board Created
(1) Creation of Board
There is hereby created the Round Rock
Library Board, hereafter called the Board, consisting
of seven (7) members. The members thereof shall be
appointed by the City Council.
(2) Terms of Appointment
The term of the first four (4) members
appointed shall expire simultaneously with the
expiration of the terms of the members of the City
Council whose terms end in April, 1982. The term
of the next three (3) members appointed shall expire
simultaneously with the expiration of the terms of
the members of the City Council whose terms expire
in April, 1983. Beginning with those members
appointed in to fill the terms expiring in April,
1982, all members shall be appointed for terms of
two (2) years. Each member shall continue to serve
until his replacement is appointed. Vacancies shall
be filled for an unexpired term in the manner in
which original appointments are required to be made.
(3) It shall encourage the development of
adequate library facilities for the res-
idents of the City of Round Rock.
(4) It may solicit for the city gifts, revenues,
bequests or endowments of money or property
as donations or grants from persons, firms
or corporations, subject to the approval and
acceptance by the city council.
II.
A. Chapter 7, Section 4, Code of Ordinances, City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby repealed.
B. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions
in conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
C. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.

prescribed by the city council for the
