AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME, AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF 78.742 ACRES OF LAND
(THE RELIANCE ELECTRIC COMPANY PROPERTY) OUT OF THE ASA THOMAS
SURVEY IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, BEING MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED BELOW, BY THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:
Section 1. On the day of June, 1978, at 7 °'6 o'clock p.m. in the City
Council Chambers of the City Hall of Round Rock, Texas, the City Council will hold
a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on
the proposed annexation by the City of Round Rock, Texas, of the following described
property, to -wit:
BEING a 78.742 acre tract or parcel of land out of the Asa Thomas Survey,
Abstract No. 609, situated in Williamson County, Texas, said tract also
being all of the remainder of two combined tracts conveyed by the Veterans
Land Board to Wm. R. Irvin and Jefferson J. Irvin described in deeds re-
corded in Volume 635, Page 478 and Volume 635, Page 482, respectively,
of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, and is more fully de-
scribed by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin found near a fence corner post at the Southwest
corner hereof, being in the West R.O.W. line of U. S. Highway 81 (I. H.
35) and the Southeast corner of a 0.434 acre tract conveyed to the State
of Texas for additional R.O.W. described in a deed recorded in Volume
423, Page 241 of said Deed Records, said point also being the Northwest
corner of a 232.49 acre tract conveyed to Margaret S. Wilson described
in a deed recorded in Volume 584, Page 928 of said Deed records;
THENCE Northerly along said R.O.W. line the following four (4) courses:
(1) North 14° 36' 22" West, 263.70 feet to a concrete R.O.W. monument;
(2) North 10° 37' 56" West, 441.39 feet to an iron pin set for the most
Northerly point of said 0.434 acre tract and the Point of Curvature of
a non -tangent curve to the right; (3) Northerly along said curve having
elements of delta = 00° 39' 16", radius = 21,611.43, tangent = 123.43,
arc = 246.85, and chord and chord bearing of 246.85 North 03° 04' 19"
West to an iron pin.set at a concrete R.O.W. monument (disturbed); (4)
North 02° 44' 41" West, 38.61 feet to an iron pin set near a fence corner
post for an ell corner hereof and the Southwest corner of a 3.993 acre
tract conveyed to H. R. Leigh described in a deed recorded in Volume
439, Page 584 of said Deed Records;
THENCE North 71° 12' 22" East, 426.03 feet to a concrete monument found
at the Southeast corner of said Leigh tract for an ell corner hereof;
THENCE North 02° 01' 49" West, 425.43 feet to a concrete monument found
at the Northeast corner of said Leigh tract being the most Northerly North-
west corner hereof and also being in the North line of a gravel drive and
the South line of a 10 acre tract conveyed to Warren C. King;
THENCE North 71° 05' 17" East, 608.0 feet to an iron pin found near a
fence corner post at the Southeast corner of said King tract and the most
Southerly Southwest corner of a city subdivision known as Southern Terrace;
THENCE North 72° 16' 14" East, 492.19 feet to an iron pin set in the North
line of the aforesaid gravel drive at a fence corner post for the Southeast
corner of said Southern Terrace and the most Westerly Southwest corner of
a 92.35 acre tract described in a Deed of Trust recorded in Volume 206,
Page 180 of said Deed Records, and from whence said iron pin another iron
pin set by others for the most Westerly Southwest corner of said 92.35
acre tract bears South 22° 09' East, 17.48 feet;
THENCE North 72° 09' 30" East, 297.27 feet across said gravel drive to an
iron pin found near a fence post in the South line of said 92.35 acre
tract;
THENCE along the South line of said 92.35 acre tract as fenced the following
three (3) courses: (1) North 70° 33' 23" East, 276.28 feet to an iron
pin found near a fence post; (2) North 72° 38' 49" East, 62.07 feet to
an iron pin found under said fence, being the Southeast corner of a 2.86
acre exception in said 92.35 acre tract; (3) North 71° 59' 22" East, 306.27
feet to an iron pin found near a fence corner post for the Northeast corner
hereof on an ell corner of said 92.35 acre tract;
THENCE along a fence and East line hereof, the West line of said 92.35
acre tract the following three (3) courses: (1) South 18° 23' 53" East,
269.92 feet to an iron pin set near a fence post; (2) South 19° 06' 21"
East, 586.73 feet to an iron pin set near a fence post; (3) South 19°
40' 06" East, 484.77 feet to an iron pin found near a fence corner for
the Southeast corner hereof and the most Southerly Southwest corner of
said 92.35 acre tract, said point also being in the North line of the
aforesaid 232.49 acre Wilson tract;
THENCE along a fence and said North line, the South line hereof the fol-
lowing five (5) courses: (1) South 70° 57' 13" West, 913.62 feet to an
iron pin set near a fence post; (2) South 70° 23' 31" West, 248.02 feet
to an iron pin found near an 18" Hackberry tree at the common North corner
of Tracts Two and Three mentioned in said Wilson Deed; (3) South 70° 26'
11" West, 150.14 feet to an iron pin set near a fence post; (4) South
70° 33' 02" West, 808.79 feet to an iron pipe found at the common North
corner of Tracts Three and Four mentioned in said Wilson Deed; (5) South
70° 38' 04" West, 638.39 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING of this herein
described tract of land.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City of Round Rock, Texas,is hereby authorized
and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a news-
paper having general circulation in the City of Round Rock, Texas, and in the above
described territory, not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days
prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal
Annexation Act, Art. 970 a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the
Council members present, the requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate
days was dispensed with.
