AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING CURRENT MECHANICAL PERMIT
FEES: PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW
MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE: PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF
THIS ORDINANCE: PROVIDING FOR SAVINGS CLAUSE:
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECT OF THIS ORDINANCE ON OTHER
ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas, has adopted by
ordinance the Standard Mechanical. Code; and
WHEREAS, the schedule set forth in the Standard Mechanical
Code for Standard Mechanical Permit Fees is insufficient to
meet current inspection and administration costs; and
WHEREAS, the Standard Mechanical Code requires issuance of
permits, inspection of work at various stages of completion, and
maintenance of inspection records:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS:
Section 1;
The following schedule for Mechanical Permit Fees is hereby
adopted and established;
1. A fee of $20.00 for new construction of each dwelling
unit or dwelling unit equivalent.
2. A fee of $15.00 for re -model construction of each
dwelling unit or dwelling unit equivalent.
3. for the purposes of this ordinance, "dwelling unit"
shall mean a unit of residential housing intended for
occupancy by a single family. For non-residential con-
struction, a "dwelling unit equivalent" shall mean (1)
construction containing 4000 square feet or less and (2)
each 4000 additional square feet. Any fraction of 4000
square feet in excess of multiples thereof shall be con-
sidered another dwelling unit equivalent.
Section 2.
The foregoing fees shall be paid for all Mechanical Permits
issued on or subsequent to January 1, 1978.
Section 3.
All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in con-
flict herewith are expressly repealed.
Section 4.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be
subject to a fine of not more than Two Hundred and No/100
Dollars ($200.00). Each transaction in violation of any of
the provisions hereof shall be deemed a separate offense and
as a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day
during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Section 5.
The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance
shall not invalidate other sections or provisions hereof.
Section 6.
Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to affect any
suit or proceeding now pending in any court, or any rights ac-
quired, or liability incurred, nor any cause or causes of action
accrued or existing under any act or ordinance repealed hereby,
nor shall any right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired,
or affected by this ordinance.
