O-76-283 - 8/5/1976ORDINANCE NO. 2/5 AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING CURRENT BUILDING PERMIT AND ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES; ESTABLISHING NEW BUILDING PERMIT AND ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES; PROVIDING THAT ANY BUILDING CONTRACTOR, OR ANY OTHER PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION THAT MAKES APPLICATION FOR A BUILDING PERMIT WITHIN THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TO THE CITY BUILDING OFFICIAL A COMPLETE SET OF PLANS TO THE STRUCTURE OR PORTION OF A STRUCTURE TO BE BUILT AS WELL AS TWO COPIES OF A PLAT SHOWING THE LOCATION OF THE BUILDING OR IMPROVEMENTS ON THE BUILDING SITE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECT OF THIS ORDINANCE ON OTHER ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas, has adopted by ordinance the Standard Building Code and the National Electrical Code; and WHEREAS, the Standard Building Code and National Electrical Code do not establish permit fee rates; and WHEREAS, each code requires issuance permits, inspection of work at various stages of completion, and maintenance of inspection records; and WHEREAS, the currently established Building and Electrical Permit Fee rates are insufficient to meet inspection and administration costs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: Section 1: The following formula for Building Permit Fees is hereby adopted and established as follows: $ eV per square foot for every structure or portion of a structure which is under roof, whether exterior or interior and specifically excluding any porch, patio, sidewalk, or driveway not under roof. Section 2: The following formula for Electrical Permit Fees is hereby adopted and established as follows: $ A.473 -per electrical outlet as that term is defined in the National Electrical Code, including but not limited to any switch, receptacle, outlet, or lighting outlet. Section 3: Any building contractor, or other person, firm, or corporation that makes application for a building permit shall be required to submit to the City Building Official a complete set of plans to the structure or portion of a structure to be built as well as two copies of a plat showing the location of the building or improvements on the building site. Section 4: All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict here- with are expressly repealed. Section 5: The invalidity of any section or provisions of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. Section 6: Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding now pending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, nor any cause or causes of action accrued or existing under any act or ordinance repealed hereby, nor shall any right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired, or affected by this ordinance. Section 7: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine of not more than Two Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($200.00). Each trans- action in violation of any of the provisions hereof shall be deemed a separate offense and as a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
