AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN OLD
ALLEY WAY WHICH IS A PORTION OF BLOCK 7 OF
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT
UPON THE ABANDONMENT OF THE ALLEY WAY THAT THE
FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO THE PROPERTY SHALL BE IN
THE NAME OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS;
DECLARING THAT ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES ARE
REPEALED.
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Villarreal, Mr. and Mrs.
Rufino Pena, Joe M. Carlin, Mrs. I. Lopez, Mrs. Fannie Bengtson,
and Joe Chapa, being more than 2/3 of the adjoining landowners
to the hereinafter described alley way, have requested that
the City of Round Rock vacate and abandon an old alley way
which is a part of Block 7 of the City of Round Rock, Texas,
as hereinafter more fully described; and
WHEREAS, the above listed landowners have fully complied
with the requirements of Ordinance No. 251, passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Round Rock on March 7,
1974; and
WHEREAS, the above named parties are the adjoining land-
owners to said old alleyway; and
WHEREAS, the property has been unused as an alley way or
passageway for many years; and
WHEREAS, the alley way is impassable by motor vehicles
and is a nuisance and health hazard to the adjoining landowners;
and
WHEREAS, the above named parties have willingly consented
to clean up and maintain said old alley way if and when the
same is abandoned; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it advisable and finds it desirable
to vacate and abandon said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Round Rock, Texas, that the following described property
be, and the same is hereby vacated, closed and abandoned, to -wit:
BEING a tract of land out of and a part of Block 7
of the City of Round Rock, Texas, according to the
map or plat records of Williamson County, Texas.
BEGINNING at the NE corner of Lot 1, Block 7;
THENCE North with the West line of Blair Street to
the SE corner of Lot 19, Block 7, of the City of
Round Rock;
THENCE with the South line of Lots 19, 18, 17, 16,
15, 14, 13, 12 and 11 to a point in the South line
of Lot 11 at its point of intersection with Brown
Street which is also the SW corner of Lot 11;
THENCE South with the East line of Brown Street
to the NW corner of Lot 10, Block 7, City of Round
Rock;
THENCE East with the North line of Lots 10, 9, 8,
7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 of Block 7, City of Round
Rock, Texas, to the Point of Beginning, which said
point is the intersection of the NE corner of Lot
1, Block 7, City of Round Rock, Texas, and Blair
Street of the City of Round Rock, Texas as shown on
the plat of record in Volume 2, Pages 36 and 37,
Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with the civil
statutes of the State of Texas that the fee simple title to
the above described property shall henceforth be in the name
of the City of Round Rock, Texas.
All ordinances, resolutions, or orders heretofore enacted,
passed, and adopted by the governing body of the City of Round
Rock, Texas, or parts thereof in conflict herewith, are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

WE, the undersigned property owners request the alley running
East and West from Brown Street to Blair Street (Block 7, RR)
be closed. We understand that it would be equally divided among
the property owners.
