O-2017-4304 - 4/13/2017 I ORDINANCE NO. 0-2017-4304 2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 44, CODE OF ORDINANCES 3 (2010 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 4 44-228 REGARDING VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION DURING 5 PEAK WATER USE PERIODS; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS 6 CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND 7 RESOLUTIONS. 8 9 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, to TEXAS: 11 I. 12 That Chapter 44, Section 44-228, Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), City of 13 Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: 14 Sec. 44-228. -Voluntary water conservation during peak water use periods. 15 (a) The city has determined that the peak water use period begins on May 1 of each year and ends on 16 October 31 of each year. During this period of peak water use, the city seeks to encourage water 17 conservation,-WrnplemenFRg-water-rates-that-ncreaseas-sensuMption-increases-(See-subsestioa 18 44 294)-ef-t iis-shaptery 19 (b) During the peak water use period of May 1 to October 31 of each year, water customers will be 20 encouraged to voluntarily use water in compliance with all of the stage I regulations set forth in section 21 44-233. 22 (c) At the beginning of the peak water use period, the city will initiate actions and engage in educational 23 programs designed to increase customer awareness of water conservation and encourage the most 24 efficient use of water. 25 (d) Water customers are encouraged to voluntarily limit the use of water for nonessential purposes and to 26 practice water conservation. Voluntary observance of the stage 1 twice-per-week watering schedule 27 is requested. 28 29 II. 30 A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are 31 expressly repealed. 32 B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not 33 invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. 01121704,00374.1(,g I C.
