D—eDaglment: Planning and Community Development
Staff Person: Jim Stendebach, Planning and Community Development Director
Justification:
This location of this site, south of the Scott & White University Medical Campus, makes it well
suited to provide for offices and retail businesses relaxed to the hospital.
Funding:
Cost: N/A
Source of funds: N/A
Outside Resources N/A
Backaround Information:
The Future Land Use Map indicates this tract as industrial. The map is not parcel specific,
however, and the General Plan states that flexibility is to be encouraged. With the
development of the hospital facility on the north side of University Boulevard, commercial uses
will be necessary as support. This tract is adjoining a commercial tract along University
Boulevard, making it appropriate for commercial uses. While light industrial land is also
necessary in the vicinity of the hospital, sufficient land zoned for that purpose is located south
and west of this tract.
Public Comment:
The Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend approval of the rezoning at their
meeting on May 30, 2007.
