R-07-07-12-11F2 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock ("City" ) desires to purchase a pedestrian bridge for the Old Settlers Park Lakeside Trail Improvement Project, and WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Texas Government Statewide Purchasing Cooperative ("Buy Board" ) , and WHEREAS, Contech Bridge Solutions Inc. is an approved vendor of the Buy Board, and WHEREAS, the City wishes to issue a purchase order to Contech Bridge Solutions Inc. , Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order to Contech Bridge Solutions Inc. for the purchase of a pedestrian bridge for the Old Settlers Park Lakeside Trail Improvement Project. Department: Parks and Recreation Staff.Person: Rick Atkins, Parks and Recreation Director David Buzzell, Park Development Manager Justification: For safety and aesthetic reasons, it is necessary to improve the trail along the Old Settlers Lake and provide a bridge structure for trail users to access the north-western part of the park. Funding: $250,000.00 Cost: $87,738.00 Source of funds: G.O. Bonds Outside Resources: Contech Bridge Solutions Background Information: This improvement entails replacing an existing "bridge" and trail segments that will provide park pedestrians with a safer means of crossing the creek and a more aesthetically pleasing trail.
