WHEREAS, speeding has become a significant safety problem on
some of the neighborhood streets in the City of Round Rock, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that to effectively
deal with the speeding problem, a Traffic Calming Program needs to
be adopted, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS,
That the City Council hereby adopts the Traffic Calming
Program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein
for all purposes.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice
of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to
the public as required by law at all times during which this
Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered
and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act .

Impact: Residents may be inconvenienced by traffic calming devices and emergency
services response may be slowed.
Benefit: Traffic speeds should decrease on neighborhood streets making
them safer.
Public Comment: Open house conducted January 11, 2001. Public Hearing conducted at
City Council Meeting on January 25, 2001. Copies of the draft
Program were mailed to neighborhood associations. No comments
were received.
