This Contract for Additional Engineering Services is for design and engineering services related to the Heritage
Trail - West Project. In addition to the original scope of the project, the consultant shall provide plans, specs,
OPCC to be included with the original project for the following additional program elements: replacement of
existing trail, lighting, and site furnishings on north side of Brushy Creek between IH35 and Summit St., design
of a shared use parking lot to connect Chisholm Trail Rd to Emmanuel Rd, conduct a metes and bounds survey
and write property descriptions for 4 parcels, and provide a Historic Preservation Committee submission. The
Heritage Trail - West Project limits are from just west of the Bathing Beach Park to the Mays Street Bridge.
Additionally, the project includes Repair and Replacement Program items and ADA upgrades for Memorial
Park.
Staff believes the proposed fee is in-line with the project total and scope of services from the consultant. This
project is in line with numerous objectives within Strategic Plan Goals 1 -High Value Services, Goal 4 -Sports
Capital for Tourism and Residents and Goal 5 -Authentic Downtown.
Staff recommends approval of this item.

This Supplemental Contract No. 1 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between
the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Baker-Aicklen & Associates,
Inc., hereinafter called the "Engineer".
WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter
called the "Contract', on the 13th day of February, 2014 for the Heritage Trail - West project in
the amount of $644,920.00; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the
scope of services and to increase the compensation by $31,725.00 to a total of $676,645.00;
NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract
is amended as follows:
Article 2. Engineering Services and Exhibit B. Engineering Services shall be amended as set
forth in the attached Addendum To Exhibit B.
II.
Article 4. Compensation and Exhibit D. Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by
$31,725.00 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $676,645.00, as
shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City and the Engineer have executed this Supplemental
Contract in duplicate.

Engineering Services
General Scope
The purpose of the services proposed herein is to provide professional consulting serviees necessary
for the development ofthe Heritagc Trail West project. It is the Consultants intent to work in effective
cooperation with the City to achieve an efficient and acceptable implementation of the project.
Program
In addition to the original scope Consultant shall provide services, as later described for, but not
limited to, the following general program elements.
• Replacement ofexisling Imil, lighting and site furnishings on north side of Brushy Creek between
IH-35 and Summit Sheet.
• Design of a shared-use parking lot to connect Chisholm Trail Road to Emmanuel Road.
• Conduct a metes and bounds survey and write properly descriptions for four (4) parcels.
• Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) submission
Development Budget Goal
The proposed hard construction cost previously described is estimated at $85,000. The Consultant will
generate and revise an opinion of probable construction costs (OPCC) throughout the project's design
development but does not guarantee that proposals, bids, or actual Project cost will not vary from its
opinion of probable construction costs (OPCC).
Basic Services
In addition to the original scope of basic services and above stated general scope and program
previously defined, The Consultant will provide: Plans, specs and OPCC to be included with the
Heritage Trail West project.

Prime Agreement Exhibit B
Task 9: Project Design Survey
The Consultant shall include the following services:
