R-01-06-28-12A1 WHEREAS, the Oak Bluff Homeowners Association has requested that Twin Ridge Parkway from its intersection with Meadow Run to its intersection with Misty Woods be closed from 10 : 15 o ' clock a.m. until 11 : 00 o ' clock a.m. on June 30, 2001 for an Independence Day parade, and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to grant such request, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS That Twin Ridge Parkway be closed as set out above for an Independence Day parade . The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended, and the Act . No motorized vehicles allowed. Decoration of bikes etc will start at 10:15. The parade will begin at 10:30. Roads to be Closed(Parade Route): The parade will follow the route from the previous 6 years. It will begin on Twin Ridge Parkway at the intersection of Meadow Run(the northern leg of Meadow Run) The parade will continue up Twin Ridge Parkway, ending at the intersection of Misty Woods The parade should take 15 to 20 minutes. The route is approximately one-half mile. Period during which the roads should be closed: From 10:15 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. On Saturday, June 30, 2001 (time) (time) (day) IMPORTANT: 1. Requests should be made at least 30 days in advance of the closing to (1) allow sufficient time for notifying other city departments and (2) ensure it is placed on a City Council agenda in a timely fashion. 2. The requesting organization assumes the burden of notifying affected businesses and residences of the pending road closure. 3. DATE: June 22, 2001 SUBJECT: City Council Meeting—June 28, 2001 ITEM: *12.A.1. Consider a resolution authorizing the closing of a portion of Twin Ridge Parkway from 10:15 o'clock a.m. until 11:00 o'clock a.m. on June 30, 2001 for an Independence Day parade. This road closure would allow the Oak Bluff Estate Home Owners Association to conduct their annual parade to celebrate the July 4t'' holiday. Resource: Paul Conner, Chief of Police Officer Dean. Friedrich History: The Homeowners Association conducts this event annually to commemorate Independence Day.
